Connections between Sanji and Scopper Gaban of the Roger Pirates

Image
It has been speculated that Scopper was Sanji’s counterpart because he was the third figure in the Metal Trio of the Roger Pirates and Sanji is the third strongest in the Monster Trio of the Straw Hat Pirates. However I think there another connection in Gaban’s name. Scopper Gaban’s name is based on this guy: But how does he fit Scopper. Scopper Gaban S-Copper Gaban 1. S stands for Space 2. Copper is another name for the police fitting the sherrif theme and Gavan has an alternate translation as Space Cop Gabin. In Australia where I live Copper is a slang for police officer. 3. Gaban is actually meant to be Gavan because the Katakana is the same for both Space sheriff and Scopper. So I believe that Scopper Gaban is actually Scopper Gavan. Who is based on a Tokusatsu series (similar to Sentai) and who has connections to the Power Rangers in the Straw Hats? The only thing up for debate is how strong prime Scopper was. I personally think if old...

Connection between Conqueror’s Haki and Voice of All Things

Image
What purpose does Voice of All Things serve in the story of One Piece? Luffy has Nico Robin who is currently the only person in world with the ability to read and decipher Poneglyphs, a skill which is essential for Luffy to understand the true history. The Voice of All Things refers to the words conveyed by inanimate objects and animals that don’t speak the human language. Although these words are usually either inaudible or unintelligible to humans, there exists an innate ability that allows a person to perceive these words and to understand and gain information through them. For example, it is possible to use this ability to gain information from the Poneglyphs. Furthermore, as we saw with Momonuske and Zunisha, some people are able to converse with the voice and, in case it belongs to an animal, might even be able to command it. According to my perspective, the Voice of All Things is a key power that helps the user to not only understand and hear even the voic...

Straw Hats Trivia

Image
D: “Oda-sensei! Please tell me the order in which the members of the Straw Hat Pirates joined the crew! I’m really grateful!” P.N. Yoshikawa Oda:  “ New readers!! Yep, that’s right. I didn’t realize. One Piece has been going for 15 years already. P.N. Maaa-kun is 10 years old. Then I’ll tell you. When you grow up, try reading about the origins of the Straw Hat Pirates. The inset numbers are the order in which the crew members joined. This is the first time that the heights of the crew members two years later have been released in the volumes. By the way, before the Thousand Sunny, the ship they sailed in was the Going Merry.” Oda was also asked how often do the Straw Hats bathe. As a reply, Oda wrote: Monkey D. Luffy : Once a week Roronoa Zoro : Once a week Nami : Every day Usopp : Once every three days Sanji : Every day Tony Tony Chopper : Once every three days Nico Robin : Every day Franky : Once every three days Brook : Once a week

Why was Dragon in Logue Town?

Image
Today we talk about the Revolutionary Monkey D. Dragon. In particular WHY he was at Logue Town. THIS is always ignored in EVERY theory I have seen about Dragon. People always talk about his Devil Fruit and his past in the Marines but not why he was in Logue Town. I think I can solve that puzzle. It’s simple actually. The mystery man explains it right here. He was there BECAUSE of Luffy. Is it really that simple? Yes, it is. Creative, right? How do I know that? Because of the line above. “A pirate? That’s fine, TOO…” “Too”? Why “too”? I tell you why. It’s because he wanted to make him a Revolutionary. He just found out he became a pirate and said that’s fine, TOO. How did he find out? Luffy just got his first bounty. But that’s not all. Why was Dragon there? He just happened to be there and Luffy just became a pirate and that’s it? How likely is that? Sure, luck in hindsight doesn’t exist and probability is only useful for future events but I think there is ...

Romantic Relationships in One Piece

Image
Myth : X character in One Piece is in love with X other character in One Piece. Fact:  It is not uncommon to see pairings mentioned like Luffy x Nami, Luffy x Boa Hancock, Sanji x Nami, Zoro x Nico Robin, however some fans try to force the speculation into fact when it is not. Fans love to fantasize about possible character couples. When asked if there would be romance in One Piece in a SBS letter, Eiichiro Oda replied  “they are in love with adventure” . There are no hints released in the manga itself. There exist minor love stories such as Kyros and Scarlett’s love story and certain relationships have been addressed (such as Piiman, Tamanegi and Ninjin mentioning how Usopp is a “lucky man” to have somebody as Kaya) but they are rather minor and no major relationship has been officially confirmed. As such, most love referencing comes in the form of perverted comments from one character to the other. Oda said that since this is a shonen manga, there...

D Means…

Image
1.   Myth : Dragon appeared in Loguetown and Luffy was able to hear the dragon talking in the Apis Arc. The D must mean DRAGON. Fact : The Warship Island Arc was not canon. Therefore everything in it (except for a few things like the Calm Belt information) was not written in the manga by Oda. This rumor was originally created by a popular anime blogger who took a wild guess after watching the arc. Due to the popularity of said blog, others also pondered on the idea (though some fans came to this meaning on their own accord). However, it has been proven Dragon has an important plot role. 2.   Myth : It is the first letter of the civilization name. Fact : We do not know what the D. means at the moment. This comes from the significant actions of the World Government to stop Clover saying the name. 3. Myth : It is not a D it is part of a smiley! Also, every D character that appeared in the series has smiled (even Portgas D. Rouge). Fact:  T...

Mihawk’s Shame and Regret

Image
As we know mostly all of the vital characters in One Piece have some sort of tragedy, specifically about their past. Mihawk was introduced as the worlds greatest swordsmen. Share He was already at the highest possible level meaning all the hardships, struggling and ordeals he had to deal with in his youth up to this point have all been dealt with and he is where he is now standing at the top of the swordsmen class. When you see Mihawk what do you think? I’m thinking confidence, strength, experience etc… Share This man walks around with his torso just hanging out of his cape. He must have the utmost confidence thinking he’ll never get cut. But what if he’s already been cut? Share To get to the point, my theory is that Mihawk has a scar on his back. Which is, according to Zoro, the absolute shame among swordsmen. He leaves his entire torso wide open yet he covers his back with a long cape and an open vest. Share As you can see h...
